Here at BROH, we’re building a community a BROHtherHood founded on the principles of love, accountability, and genuine connection. Our programs, deeply rooted in nature and sports, are designed to help you find your strength, raise your self-awareness, and live a life of purpose.
While our mission is about connecting people and not about pushing a religious agenda, we also believe in being transparent about what guides us. For many of us, including me, having faith in something bigger than ourselves is the bedrock that gives us the strength to weather the toughest storms and the humility to appreciate the good times.
My journey with faith is probably a lot like many of yours.
The Evolution of My Faith
I grew up Catholic, and honestly, the only thing I retained from mandatory Sunday school was a strong desire not to be there. I never stopped believing in God, but as an adult, I definitely wasn’t living a life that reflected those beliefs. I was chasing my ego and easy money, which led me down a path of poor choices, the loss of a career, and a lot of pain. I was lost, simply existing from day to day, ruled by a thirst for attention and the wrong kind of validation.
But God, as the saying goes, works in mysterious ways. Every stumble, every bad decision, every moment of suffering was ultimately a part of the plan that led me to a place of peace and freedom today.
That turning point came during my second liver transplant. It was a true wake-up call, a moment of profound clarity and surrender. I was at my absolute lowest point, ready to quit and not wanting to face another moment on Earth. But in that moment of fear and isolation, I had what felt like a direct encounter with a higher power.
I was shown that the purpose of my suffering the cancer, the first transplant, the chaos was to get me to see my true path, a path I’d repeatedly ignored because I was so fixated on my ego. It was a baptism, not in a chemically balanced tub in front of a crowd, but alone in a room where I surrendered everything.
A New Purpose: Living Out Loud
In that moment, I chose to work for that higher power. I chose to live a life led by love and example.
The message was simple, yet powerful:
- Go live a life led by love.
- Show the world how to be as confident in themselves as they were created to be.
- Do not force anything on anyone; simply live your life out loud.
I realized that my purpose now is to show the world the power of love, the strength from within, and that we are all created to be united, not divided by earthly temptations and the enemy’s distractions.
BROH is the foundation built on that spiritual calling. It’s a faith-based organization put on my heart to share with the world not as a new religion, but as a way of life.
The BROH Way: Accountability, Love, and Gratitude
I know I’ll stumble. I’m human. But I will always get back up and continue this pursuit—not to preach to you, but simply to lead a life that follows the light, in hopes that others will choose to walk with me.
In our community, we don’t worship in a traditional sense, but we absolutely give thanks. Nature and sports are our sanctuary, where we:
- Hold each other accountable
- Raise self-awareness
- Communicate openly
- Look to understand, not judge
- Love all of God’s creations: the people, the plants, the animals, and the natural resources.
We commit to never taking more than we need and always looking to share and replenish. We are a family striving to live this life the right way.
We invite you to find what gives you strength, what makes you humble, and what pushes you to live a life of love. If you’re looking for a community to walk that path with, we’re here.
